Goofy African Men and Why Women Love Them...

Well ladies,

I am sure we all have dated at least one goofy guy in our past. They are sweet, however, who really wants a man who trips over his own shoelases. Anyhow, I once dated this Ghanian man. He was 30 (Or so he said) and really sexy. His face wasn't all that however. The only thing about him I did not find very attractive was the fact that he was sooo goofy.

He was a thick dude. One that had a little bit of weight on him, you know the kind that women find sexy. He was ugly from a face point of view, but women really don't care about that now do they. We eventually broke up because he was so goofy.

I wanted to know if any other women had stories about their goofy relationships and if they would care to share.

Dirty Ass, Racist Ass Memphis, TN

Memphis, TN is probably known for its barbecue, Elvis Presley and Graceland (of course) and Blues. Many people do not know that Memphis is probably one of America's most racist cities. I don't doubt this AT ALL. Memphis Sucks and I would move but most other places have just as much racism as Memphis. I found this out after I moved to Atlanta. The only major black businesses are the black churches and the pimps who run them and of course the black colleges who charge more than they should for the substandard education they offer.

Memphis is filled with hillbilly, white racists who would rather cut off their member than see blacks get ahead. There is so much poverty in Memphis, TN that it is unbelievable. I was traveling in Nebraska and was checking into the hotel in Omaha and a young white fellow was like, "you're from Memphis?" and he went on to state how he "hated Memphis and how it seemed the only businesses were liquor stores and fast food places and how all the people with money were leaving". Unfortunately, he hit the nail on the head.

Lessons Learned from The Jena 6

The Jena 6 incident in Jena, LA was indeed a very unfortunate one. It is an incident that shows that racism in Amerikkka, especially in the deep south is very much alive and well. I believe there are many reasons for this, but one of the main reasons is that Southern Whites feel that they are still silently fighting the Civil War. Although of course they are not fighting this battle with guns and other weapons of the sort, they are fighting back with economic discrimination of blacks, intimidation and other means. They do not like blacks PERIOD. We need to face the fact.

As a black woman who was born and raised in Mississippi, educated in Georgia and Tennessee, I can assure you that there is still a lot of bitterness from whites toward blacks in the South. A lot of this racism has unfortunately passed itself off to foreigners and new immigrants to the South who are quick to recognize who the main power holders are and they are quick to align themselves with "whites" and take on their prejudice of blacks. Many blacks are surprised that in the South foreigners, and yes, this includes many africans as well as others, look down on American blacks. They also have a deep resentment.

There are many whites in the South and elsewhere "but especially in the South" who still feel a sense of "entitlement" because they are "white". They drive around all day in the big pickup trucks with their confederate battle flags mean mugging blacks and hispanics. Its almost like one can see in their eyes their true hatred for other races.

The Jena 6 showed us that there are also large racial disparities in the Judicial system that unfairly sentences blacks to harsher sentences than whites, even for the same crimes.

To sum it all up, I would have to say that the Jena 6 movement shows all of us Amerikkka has a way to go to be a nation of "true" equality for all of its citizens, not just "whites".

Why It's Hard to Be A Black Woman Today......

Blacks don't help each other

I can tell you first hand it is very hard to be a black woman in America today. As black women we are constantly degraded by our own kind and held back by our own kind. Ever hear the saying " Blacks Treat each other Like Crabs in a Barrel"? Well, you get my point.

Black people don't help each other like we should, especially in the South. I believe that blacks in the cities and up North are more open to helping each other get ahead. In the South, the handful of successful blacks fight tooth and nail to make sure another black does not get ahead. Why is this? I do not know?

Marriage

Also, it is very difficult for a black woman today to find marriage partners. Many black men are already married "or" are not worth a woman's time. Trust me. It seems like many young black men are so lazy and do not want to work. They would rather stand on the street corners "slangin" (God, I hate that term but they use it so often) dope and marijuanna. They want to be "cool". How on earth is it cool to be living "off" of your woman at 30 years of age with several offspring who don't even know you (and when grown they won't "care" to know you)? Is it everybody's fault that your momma gave it up too soon to a boy who didn't want to be a father?

If you look at the black female to male ratio its no wonder black women are not getting married. Its alarming especially in cities like Atlanta, GA where there are so many successful, single black women. Many black women have even resorted to what is known in the black community as "man sharing" where two "or more" women openly share a man. I'm like WTF. For real.

And then many black men when they get money run off with white women. The prison population is also majority black and then we have what is known as the "down low" phenomenom where black men have sex with other black men (I know - Yuck right) without anybody knowing. Is it any wonder The AIDS/HIV virus is so prevalent in our communities.

Employment

I have a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Finance and it is so hard for me to even find employment that pays me a living wage. White folks try and treat us "blacks" like it is a "priviledge" for us to work but a "right" for them to work. Like Malcolm X stated, they say go to school and get an education, but when you do they say you are "overqualified" for the job you applied for or that your skills do not fit. Even whites with just a high school diploma find work at 4 times the rate as blacks.

I hate the South but it is where I'm from and where my family is at. However, the job market in the South is awful. And why are so many black folks rushing to Atlanta like its the land of milk and honey, those racists there don't want to hire us either. I know, I went to school there and lived there for 8 years.

I hate the South.
